A Gelfling That Writes Books!

One of my earliest memories involves the Meg and Mog books. Even then, I must have been fascinated by witches and their adventures. Years later, I'm still interested in witchcraft and magic, only now I'm writing the book...

Other researches have forced me to spend days with dusty volumes of old court records, and while I was there I found loads of amazing testimonies of witchcraft - accusations and witness statements, flat denials and detailed confessions, accounts of spells and possessions.

So there was only one thing for it, especially as I found myself sharing an office with the wonderful people at Tynebridge Publishing. A few months later Dancing with the Devil and other true tales of northern witchcraft was born.

A Gelfling in chains! This is me in the Newcastle Guildhall - the building, though sadly not the furniture, which saw the trials of some of the men and women in the book. The outfit is seventeenth century and surprisingly comfortable. Which is more than can be said for the manacles...
